Cristina Bertolotto, MD

MD in Neurosciences, Specialist in Regenerative Biomedicine, obtained her Medical Doctor degree in Uruguay, and her Post-Doctoral degree in Neurosciences at University of California Los Angeles. Tenured professor at UCLA at the Department of Pediatrics, David Geffen School of Medicine, and Tenure Faculty Professor at the Department of Pediatrics at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Taught more than 1000 college and Medical students, residents and fellows. Published multiples articles and abstracts in scientific journals most relevant including: Cell, Nature Medicine, Nature Endocrinology, Nature Genetics, Endocrinology, Journal of comparative Neurology, Journal of Neurophysiology, Hearing Research, among others. Conducts research on human stem cells in adult adipose tissue, umbilical cord, placenta and amniotic membrane, and Islets of Langerhan. Dr. Bertolotto also does research on neurogenesis, neuro-development, neuro-regeneration, synapses, sensory systems, morphology and molecular neurobiology, neurodegenerative disease and aging process, genetics, endocrinology, inflammation, fibrosis and infectious diseases.

Dr. Bertolotto is a biomedical executive senior manager with strong operational expertise in the field of translational medical research and technology transfer for more than 25 years. Have worked on technology transfer projects involving multinational pharmaceutical and biotech companies, with extensive network of contacts within research hubs around the world, including private and governmental institutions. She was responsible at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for a portfolio of over 200 technologies ranging from medical devices, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics to cell therapy, software and biomarkers. Part of the 6th Annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2015 in Kenya, as a woman Entrepreneur invited to be part of President Barak Obama’s delegates.
