Alberto Gobbi, PhD

MD and PhD in Medicine and Surgery, specialist in Orthopedics, Traumatology and Sports Medicine, with a long-standing international reputation in the field of arthroscopic surgery, cartilage repair and regenerative medicine, leading roles in many prestigious medical societies. Graduated from “Università degli Studi” di Milano (1983), continued training to become a Sports Medicine doctor and an orthopedic surgeon specialized in arthroscopic procedures. One of the first Italian surgeons to be elected Honorary Member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). President of Orthopedic Arthroscopic Surgery International (O.A.S.I.), serves as a Visiting Professor with the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at University of California, and Principal Investigator of FastTrack International Multicenter studies, supported by Anika Inc. (US). 

 

Vice-President of the International Cartilage Repair Society (ICRS). Chair of the Educational Committee of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopedic Sport Medicine (ISAKOS). Fellow of ICRS for the last 10 years, served as member of the General Board, chair of Educational Committee, Program Chair of the World meeting in Miami, and Program Chair of Beijing ICRS. Founder and director of Orthopedic Arthroscopic Surgery International (OASI) Bioresearch Foundation Gobbi Onlus, a No-Profit Organization, accredited by the Italian Ministry of Health and recognized as an International Teaching Center by ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery & Orthopedic Sports Medicine), and ICRS, in Milan, Italy. Published books and numerous publications on arthroscopic procedures and surgical treatment of cartilage repair, and appeared in many international peer-reviewed journals.
